D'tre sat just outside the barracks. He had come there after lessons which were about two hours earlier. The boy was completely engrossed in what he was doing. The cool autumn breeze was not helping his concentration unfortunately. The usually patient Keebrith was not going to let him keep this up forever. He kept pointing the same things out and D'tre continued to fail.
Keebrith was growing impatient with D'tre's inability to do a simple task. Are you sure you are concentrating? "Yes and I'm doing exactly what we were told to do." He was not going to give up. Not ever. He was going to get this eventually. While you are busy trying to talk to me in your head, I'm not getting my nap. Keebrith pointed out for what seemed to be the millionth time.
It is supposed to be rather simple. He told himself. Great, he was now officially the class idiot. With a long sigh, he tried again. Talking with your mind is just like talking out loud. Keebrith reminded him, suddenly back to being patient. "Keebrith, you know its not that simple. It isn't that simple for me. I don't know why I can't seem to understand something that should come easily." The seventeen turn old refused to be defeated by this though. He continued to talk to Keebrith without thought to who might be listening in.

R'cay and Corunth walked out of the barracks and heard D'tre talking out loud to his dragon. R'cay and his dragon look at each other and shrugged. He walked over to D'tre "having trouble telepathically talking to your dragon?"
Corunth sat down behind R'cay and stuck his head out from behind him Hello Keebrith you look tired. Let me guess your is have trouble talking to you with his mind. He tilted his head to the side and waited for him to answer.
