It took all of Gwyn to leave Telgar, to leave her children, but she knew she'd probably go back for them, one day. Her boys she must leave for Telgar's children, but her girls, well she might be able to sneak them away to Telgar. . .
The woman had decided that after K'dyn left for the second time, she wouldn't just stand there and adjust like the Weyr demanded of her. It took her days to get it through her head that he wasn't coming home. So if he wasn't coming home, she'd have to go to him and make a new home. Gwyn loved no other man as fully as she loved K'dyn, and she knew the brownrider well enough to realize that he'd be terribly ruined with leaving his life again. For both their sanities, she left Telgar.
Her plan was merely this: Aurath had gotten coordinates from Ortath. She didn't think her weyrmate knew about her plan to follow him, and it would be better that way. If some one questioned him, he wouldn't know, and Ortath may soon forget that he helped out in this scheme. During a fall, she was standing her ground, but she knew she'd not be returning with the others. At her orders, Aurath creened terribly, and they betweened to Nova. The others would think that she died in battle, and no one could drag her back because it would be too much to explain. She contemplated bringing one of her daughters with her, but thought that fighting thread would be too dangerous for any of her children just yet.
She popped out from between while it was dusk. Some dragons in the bowl looked up to see Aurath, but Gwyn knew it was some time before one of them reported the green to Sheluth. It also helped that Neory was more or less her sister-in-law. The queenrider would understand and give Gwyn her needed time with K'dyn.
Aurath found Ortath's ledge, but bade the brown to be quiet. Gwyn wanted this to be a happy surprize for her love. A fleeting thought crossed her mind. What if K'dyn moved on with another? What if she was too late to save their love and he was weyrmated to some one else? She didn't know exactly how much time had passed for Nova.
She stood in the doorway between Ortath's couch and K'dyn's weyr. Gwyn ran a hand through her still dark hair, hoping to make herself presentable. His back was turned to her. She smiled softly, "K'dyn?"
