Concurrent with Sheluth's flight...
The girl practically skid to a halt, breathless and pink-cheeked and flushed with exhilaration when she ran into the weyrhall to proclaim, "It's Sheluth! Sheluth bloods!" At once, in reaction, a half-dozen people who had been trying to eat and chat fled to the edge of the bowl to shade their eyes and peer eagerly toward the blooding dragons.
It left J'tain alone at his table, gave him room to kick his heels and perch them on the edge of the table, to tip back his chair and lace his fingers behind his head, to watch the sudden rush of excitement with a growing smirk. He'd seen it before, a queenflight and the resultant giddiness, and he was perfectly happy to sit back and enjoy the view this time, as well.
And possibly pick off one of the girls foolish enough to let the thrill of a queen's mating go to her head. He wasn't above scavenging.

Jinet who wasn't too excetied about the queens flight got up from her table and slowly walked the the bowlcrossed her arms and looked toward the dragon.
Isisth looked toward her rider Why arent you more excited about the flight of the quee If you recall I have seen a queen's flight, and I am not three years old any more deary. Well excuse me for bothering you your highness. Jinet looked around the bowl at the many bronzes and browns waiting for her to take off, which made her think of her own dragons first flight.

Serve the riders at the weyrhall. That was what she was instructed to do.
And so, after a few quick nods of understanding, Nerilan had gathered up the freshly made klah and hurried off to the weyrhall, moving as hastily as she could without sending the pitcher and glasses off the tray and onto the ground. Once at the hall, she hovered from table to table, offering the beverage to those around her. She had been blushing furiously, turning red even under the sunburn, because a handsome rider had thanked her for the klah and sent her a dashing smile and a wink, when the girl rushed towards them.
"It's Sheluth! Sheluth bloods!" she announced as she looked over the handful of people that were lounging in the hall. At her words, they got to their feet and hurried out to the edge of the bowl to watch the spectacle. Nerilan found herself alone, and very confused. Sheluth? That was one of the queens, yes? The young woman took a step after those who had retreated, just as a deafening roar resounded throughout the weyrbowl. She froze.
A whirlwind of feelings washed over her, radiated from the rising queen and her chasers, and overwhelmed her. A shiver ran up and down her spine, and the young woman sucked in a breath at the sensation. The feelings were not unfamiliar--she had felt them once upon a time, when she and Krellin had first married and she had been curious, interested in him--but never before had the woman felt it with such intensity. Swallowing, she glanced around the room with a sudden need for company, and her green eyes rested on a man leaning casually back in his chair, feet resting on the edge of the table. At once, she was aware of him, truly aware that he was handsome, that he was taking the whole situation so cooly, and that he was a man. She studied him silently.

A glance chased the greenrider; whatever impelled her to go look had not similarly impacted J'tain, left him only with the vague impression of a smirk ghosting his lips. But no interest showed, for his prey was different.
The twitchy feeling of being watched came to him briefly, and he cast a slow look around the room to find the source of it. Naturally, eventually, his attention lit on the girl, and he summarized her with a slow look. Then the smile turned inviting, and he reached a finger to beckon her invitingly toward the empty chair beside him.
Yes, mousey; come to the kitty.

Jinet lost interest in the flight and made her way back to the hall where she saw a lone person beckoning a girl to come over and sit next to him. Jinet sat down at a table not to far form so that she could watch him and see what he was up to cause she had nothing better to do at the time.
Jinet began to study him. The first thing that came to her mind was that he seemed to be a cat waiting for the mouse to come to him, with the way he was using his finger to tell the girl to come here.

A shiver ran up her spine as the man motioned for her to sit, and Nerilan found herself gravitating towards the empty chair, quite oblivious to the green rider who had reentered the weyrhall. Tentatively, she lowered herself into the chair and peered timidly upwards at the man. Still at loss of what to do, her gaze diverted downwards, and then to the pitcher of klah she had set on the table. Looking at the beverage, she could almost hear the candidate master chiding her for shirking her duties; she ignored the nagging voice and swallowed.
"Hello," she said for lack of better words.
