T'ris watched Ch'li's reaction but diverted his eyes quickly enough not to get caught looking by the others at the table. No one really knew what side T'ris was on, as far as relations went and that was something he would prefer remained that way. The dealer began to deal the cards, which T'ris watched carefully.
When his hand had been dealt to him, he looked them over. A casual smile on his face. He might not have a traditional poker face but looking happy with one's hand all the time confused people. T'ris was not too unhappy with what he was dealt but only called the bet instead of increasing on the five marks that the bet was at. He almost happily gave two cards back and recieved two new cards. The smile on his face was unchanging though his eyes looked slight bit more serious than his smile was portraying.
He wasn't sure he wanted to play poker all that long, since there were other things on his mind now. It might be better if he call it an early night. The Igen rider was not making his thoughts any more innocent. T'ris was much too distracted to play a decent game of poker.

Had T'ris been looking at him? Ch'li studied the brownrider carefully, but the man did not look back. The Greenrider frowned slightly, and then looked down at his hand. Shards, it didn't look good.
He dropped all his cards, and waited to receive five more. Ah, that was better. The marks were tossed down as though they were no big deal. Which, now, they really weren't. What exactly were marks good for, since most people couldn't travel to the North Continent, and their marks wouldn't be good their either. They might as well use colored stones.
"So if most of you aren't playing poker." Ch'li began conversationally. "What do you do for fun around here?"

Jinet picked up the cards she was dealt. A small smile appeared on her face as she saw she had set of three and two cards that made her frown. She took the two and placed the two on the table. Jinet picked up the two cards and they were not much better.
She took at the rest of the group and didn't find them very attractive. Really the only one she thought was was T'ris. She noticed the glint in his eyes I can't tell if he is bluffing or not but something tells me he has a good hand.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
A'ron walked into the hall and saw Jinet and T'ris sitting at a table play poker. He walked over to the table and kissed Jinet on the cheek "Hi Jinet. Oh and don't you own me something?" Jinet glared at him when he kissed her, she then reached up and smacked him "Your such a jerk and eww."

"The beach is marvellous, if you haven't had the chance yet to go." T'ris said as a way of answering his question without answering. He couldn't just tell what people were doing there, one had to go and experience the beach for oneself. His eyes were on Ch'li for a moment after he spoke. A little longer than he intended to, but that had the makings of a crush the way he was staring.
Ugh, why was he being such an dimglow? T'ris didn't like having to hide his preferences. It was so much easier not to worry about it until flights and then, it was perfectly acceptable. He glanced back down at his hand, hoping for a better hand than everyone else. Three of a kind wasn't quite good enough but he might just be able to bluff his way out of this one.
He heard rather than saw the man coming up to Jinet. Didn't sound like a nice person. "Excuse me." He said to the man. " I believe the lady wishes you to leave her alone. Also you are interrupting my poker game." He had no reason to say anything else some of the others at the table were also looking at the new arrival,

Jinet tried to ignore A'ron as he tried to get under T'ris's skin. she looked at her cards and was still unhappy at the hand she was dealt. She realized that the rest of the table was now starting to looking at A'ron.
----------------------------------------- A'ron grawled at Jinet as she smacked him. he turned to T'ris and smiled "I guess your right I should leave, but then again I want to stay to annoy you event more." He stood there waiting for him to say something.

Ch'li nodded, as he waited to see if anyone else(meaning T'ris, the dealer) was going to up the ante. He'd been to the beach, but it wasn't as interesting if you didn't have a special someone to share it with.
He watched more, certain that T'ris was giving him 'The Look'. And hopeful he was too- he knew almost everyone from Igen, and didn't want to get to know them better. For the most part at least. Even if T'ris didn't work out, the Brownrider could introduce him around.
That was when another Brownrider turned up. Ch'li looked him over, and found the new man lacking. First off, anyone who had to wander around looking for fights to get into wasn't someone Ch'li was very much interested in seeing often. Second, he had the look of a kicked puppy who kept biting people and being confused on why he was being smacked for it. Not the type of boy good little Greenrider's like Ch'li wanted to get involved with. However, it would be interesting to see how T'ris reacted the the 'Big Dragon in the Sandbox'.
"And getting into fights with women- is that another pastime for Nova?" Ch'li smiled, and addressed his comment to T'ris, but kept an eye on the brownrider. He really didn't need a black eye today. Or new bruises.

T'ris was not happy. His blue eyes glittered with an emotion resembling anger. This of course was not an emotion people were used to seeing on him. He had no reason at all to continue to allow this man to get in his way. "I see." His eyebrow quirked up as he stared at the other man, measuring him with his eyes. He could most certainly take the runt in a fight.
A little more than roiled at the greenrider's comment. "Its not one of my favorites..." He grimaced and looked back at A'ron. Men like him deserved a good threadscore and probably worse! Standing he remarked, "If you will all excuse me from the game, it seems I'm going to have to deal with this boy." He didn't wait to see what Jinet and Ch'li had to say about this.
T'ris didn't like people who interfered with his good time. "Alright A'ron, lets settle this. If I win, you leave Jinet alone for good. If I lose you can continue to annoy us." Either way he was sure the man wasn't going to be true to his word but he would still give him a good bruise or three...

Jinet looked at Ch'li and didn't know weather to thank him or be mad at him for what he had said. She turned to T'ris and smiled as he stood up and faced the person she hated most in all Pern "I hate to brake it to you T'ris but your going to have to beat him to a pulp for him to leave me let alone you alone, He's dumber then a box of rocks." Jinet had a smirk on her face as she said it too. -----------------------------------------------
A'ron glared at Jinet when she said what she said to T'ris, His glare quickly went from her to T'ris as he stood there waiting for him to make the first move A'ron went to punch T'ris in the gut, but instead went after Jinet. She noticed him coming after her and got up but was too late and he manged to grab the back of her collar and choke her.

Ch'li wasn't particularly strong, or tall. And he wasn't a big fan of the Greenriding girl who'd been steal the attention of the pretty Brownrider away from himself. Not that he knew if the Brownrider was even interested or not, but how could he know with her keeping the attention on herself. So, with a prim sort of action, he stood, and quickly was in front of A'ron. The man might have been taller than him, but Ch'li wasn't above using dirty tricks.
Grabbing at the hand that was attacking Jinet, he attempted to sink his nails into A'ron's flesh, while going for the Brownrider's knees at the same time. His brown eyes were pissed, and he had a sneaking feeling that as the lowest ranking Igen minority involved in this fight, he was going to take the fall. It irritated him, though he would accept whatever punishment they gave him without argument. That's what a good Greenrider did, after all.
(Sarah, I'm sure you didn't mean too, but you might want to edit A'ron. He kinda GMed)

((Sorry if I GMed Dreamer I didn't mean to and I didn't even realize, so I'm not really sure where I GMed . )) Jinet tryed to free herself from A'ron's grasp but she couldn't reach his hand. She saw Ch'li get up and tryed to tell him not to get involed because she didn't want another person hurt on her account, but she couldn't say anything his grip was to tight. A'ron glared at Ch'li as he came after him and sunk his nail into his arm. A'ron growled and quickly let go of Jinet and turned his attention to Ch'li. "That wasn't to smart partner, because now your on my bad side too." Jinet droped to her knees as she put a hand around her throat and massaged it. She turned back to the trio fighting and sighed "Ch'li get out of here I don't want you to get hurt or in trouble because someone can't leave me alone."

T'ris, realizing that A'ron would rather hurt a defenseless woman, grew more angered. "I thought I told you to leave her alone, dimglow." He added, his voice was low but not low enough for other people to gather. As he walked toward A'ron, Ch'li had already begun to attack the man. The brownrider was suprised because he had never imagined an Igen rider would come to the aid of someone from Telgar. It was an interesting twist.
As he went to punch A'ron in the jaw, he was stopped mid-throw. A voice, cold and authoritative, entered their newly formed circle.
"Ch'li, A'ro, T'ris and Jinet." She said the names as if she knew who everyone in the room was, which seemed impossible to T'ris. "That will be enough of disrupting the entire Weyrhall. Elfreth will be informing your dragons shortly of what you will be doing tomorrow as punishment for your actions. If you fail to do this, I will personally see to it that your Wingleaders know of your transgressions and I will be bringing it up with the Weyrleader."
Her face was stoic and though there was no reason to disbelieve what she said, T'ris rather doubted she would have the Weyrleader's ear. He didn't know much about the leaders of the Weyr though. There issues were not usually his own. T'ris gave Ch'li a quick wink, as if they would get off easy for coming to the defense of a woman.
Boy, was he ever wrong.

Ch'li sunk into himself, growing visibly smaller, his face going blank, as he stepped away from the fray, and stood facing Laszreen, his hands clasped and white behind his back.
He couldn't believe he'd been caught in the act of fighting by the Igen weyrwoman. It was more than humiliating, and it was all the fault of that stupid freak of a Greenrider. People weren't wrong when they considered Greenriding females foolish- a male Greenrider would have known to go to his Wingleader.
Not that he was about to volunteer that information. Instead he remained silent, and bowed to express his acceptance of his punishment. Greenrider's didn't speak to Queenriders. It just wasn't done.
Not when they looked as ruffled as he did, at least. Even his clothing wasn't looking so good.

Jinet stood up and turned on her heels to face Laszreen. She hung her head know that really the only one who should get in the most trouble was A'ron. Jinet stood there wait for the idiot to do something to make there problem even worse. Just as she thought he would dig their hole deeper he did.
-------------------- A'ron looked at the Jr Wyerwomen and laughed "I'm sorry Jr Weyrwomen but they all started it and I did nothing wrong, but I will take any punishment you see fit. All though the three of them derisive the biggest." He shook his head and then turned to glare at T'ris, Jinet, and Ch'li.
