Falia smiled ever so sweetly at the candidates around the main area. If anyone looked, all they would see was a pretty, innocent, and shy girl entering the barracks. She had on a dark mahogany dress that swirled lightly around her. It was a perfect look. She smiled shyly at any candidate that look her way as she moved to sit down on her bed and she pretended to be studying a dragon anatomy diagram. A perfectly studious girl, yes, that would work quite nicely.
She was waiting for someone to pounce on with a question in friendliness. She was a master of being fake with her friendliness. Yes, being shy always seemed the best way to "make friends" because everybody wanted to be nice to you. Oh how she loved manipulating those poor people. Guys were always the easiest though because they also seemed to fall for her "innocent" charm.

Laszreen entered the Candidate Barracks without much thought as to whom was there. Candidates were fairly low on the totem pole here and she would much prefer to speak with the Candidate Master. With Neory as Senior Weyrwoman, it fell to Laszreen to speak with the Candidate Master and report back to Neory later.
The Gold rider glanced around the room, her cold countenance did not inspire anyone to talk to her though there were plenty stares and whispers. Laszreen did not notice any of this. Her dark leathers were the finest that could be made and her obvious disregard as to whom was there should indicate that she was no Candidate. The petite woman did not particularly want to keep running around looking for the Candidate Master. Elfreth had said he was here but it seemed that he had either left or was hiding. The second was very unlikely.
Approaching the lone girl closest to her, she asked without formality, "Have you seen the Candidate Master in the last few minutes?" It wouldn't suprise her if this girl had no idea where the man was. She would rather not have to ask but seeing as she needed to speak with him and soon something needed to be done.

Flia glanced up at the wealthy lady, who looked to be a gold rider, asking her if her if she knew where the candidate master was. Why would she know where the candidate master, was, it wasn't her duty to keep track of him!
SHe blinked her eyelashes in faked confusion, like someone who has just come out of deep studying and said, "My lady." She easily looked very surprised. She accidentally dumped her study materials as she tried to get up and curtsy, which was of course all fake. One day she would be better than this lady! Pretending to be totally bewildered she said, "My lady, I am just a lowly candidate, how could I know where the candidate master was?" With another shy bob of her head she blushed slightly and said, "My lady, I am very sorry I can not help. I was just studying and not paying much attention to anything..." With another little curtsy she started picking up the papers she had accidentally on purpose dropped. She wanted to see what the gold riders reactions to her fast talking and rambling would bring.

She might not be immune to flattery but Laszreen did not like this girl. The reason being, she felt that the girl was saying one thing and meaning something entirely different. Laszreen was originally from Bitra and most of Pern knew the morals there were slack compared to the rest of the world. Hence she despised anyone who was not completely honest with her. If the girl was lying she better hope that Laszreen did not remember her tomorrow.
"Lowly though you may be, you are a Candidate and the Candidate Master has occassion to teach and guide you."She explained as if to some dimglow. The girl had no idea what an insult it was to question why someone asked her a question. "I'd prefer you stopped that silly curtseying and acted like someone who had more confidence because you obviously have enough to talk to someone much higher than yourself."
The Gold rider, unlike this girl apparently, paid very much attention to details so when the girl dropped the papers, Laszreen rolled her eyes and waited. The woman was not accustomed to waiting on clumsy, irritating young girls. Laszreen held back from saying more than that. The girl was not someone she wished to have a prolonged conversation with. Instead she needed Elfreth who was napping which was why she was forced to ask around where the man had gotten to.
