Character Info:
Name: Manna
Age: 5 Turns
Gender: Female
Rank: Child, Weyrbrat
Location Weyr
Family:
Mother: Bree of Green Dapplath - deceased
Father: M'oone of Brown Zorkath - deceased
Adopted Father: B'oone of Brown Brennanth - 37 - Nova Weyr
Caretaker: Salla, Lower Caverns Woman - 22 - Nova Weyr
Appearance:
Manna is small and bony for her age. She looks a gangly child, but is really actually quite graceful. She likes to run, and it looks like she races with the wind. Manna usually does nothing with her hair, which is most usually hanging down past her shoulders in unkempt clumps, which turn, when brushed, into curls. It is a light brown, a mix between her father's dark brown and her mother's almost bleach blond. Her eyes are at best gray and at least a dull brown. They sparkle with the lively fire that also clutches her heart.
Although Manna doesn't look a nice, pretty child, she can clean up well (when she wants to or when she is commanded to). She has a pretty face, and in the right light her cheeks gain a rosy tint. She has a nice smile, and can be really sweet-looking when she wants to be.
Personality:
Manna is like every child. She has energy like no other; she can run and jump, and cry out, and laugh, and everything else all without getting tired. She is a fast runner for her age, and she loves running. Her favorite game, however, is hide-and-go-seek, which she excels at. She is able to curb her undying energy to sit still for hours at a time. She loves B'oone as if he were her real father, since she did not know her real parents.
She is unafraid of dragons or tall heights, or anything, really. The one thing she is afraid of is being alone, or thinking that she is alone. She has manners, but, like all young children, she doesn't know how to use them. Similarly, she can speak in full sentences, but rarely does so.
History:
Manna was born in the future. Her name had split meaning to both her mother and her father. Her father's dragon had killed his sister, and her father had not forgiven himself until she was born. Her father named her Manna for the dual purpose of keeping his sister's memory alive and reconciling with himself. Her mother had named her Manna because she loved M'oon and also because she felt that the girl looked like the name could fit.
Manna's mother died when she was three. Her dragon, Dapplath, was killed by Thread (a large spot of it pelted the dragon, who defended her rider), and went between forever. Bree could not live without her dragon, and so slowly withered away. M'oone found her in bed one day, and she had died (of causes seemingly unknown) in her sleep. A Turn later M'oone and his dragon, Zorkath, caught Thread. 'Catching' Thread is not good, seeing as it eats away flesh and any living thing. Zorkath caught Thread, a huge ball of it, in his chest while M'oone caught it in the eye. M'oone died, and Zorkath went between.
Manna was too young to know about death, and she accepted B'oone's story about "Your daddy had to leave to another Weyr," just as easily as she had accepted the same story about her mother the Turn before. She also accepted that B'oone was now her father, and she was to call him exactly that (not by demand, but by choice). Not soon after, the girl and her new Daddy were chosen to go back in time to a new Weyr, Nova Weyr. Of course they had to go, but the girl didn't care. She was still too young to care where she lived, as long as she was with her new Daddy, and his Brown, Brennanth.
