Alsea doesn't usually dress up unless it is for a Gather or Hatching or Handfasting or some other occasion. She has a nice red dress that she keeps at the bottom of her travel trunk and wears that dress for those special occasions.
She has a small box at the very bottom of her travel trunk. It’s a nice dark rosewood color with her name engraved on the top. She keeps all of her jewelry in it. She always wears a simple silver necklace that has her and her husband’s names engraved on it. She had received it as a gift from her parents shortly after she and Torant had been married. It also has a ring to match. She saves the rest of her jewelry to wear for special occasions. She has a leather hide belt she wears all the time. It was a gift from her brother before she left when she was to married.
When she is riding or attending other duties she wears a simple dark copper tunic with black or reddish brown trousers. She likes to wear dark colors and will sometimes be seen in lighter colors during the summer months, when it’s really warm. She has a leather jerkin vest that was dyed to a light yellow coloring that she wears every now and then. The inside of the jerkin vest is done up in dyed dark yellow wherry feathers to keep the body warm during the winter. It’s her favorite vest.

Paternal Grandfather - Ashtin (deceased) The Former Lord Holder of Fort Hold. He was a proud man with exacting standards. He was forceful in making sure that Fort lived up to its proud heritage. As such he was very demanding on his family, especially his eldest son.
Paternal Grandmother - Naline (78) A still proud woman, kept content by the living arrangements her eldest son provides for her, and an advisor to him.
Father- Lord Merrek of Fort Hold, (58) or as Alsea calls him “Lord Absent”. Even when he is around he is emotionally unavailable. Alsea feels like he never truly sees her.
Stepmother – Lady Sulia (41) in every story the Harpers tell there is one trait all stepmothers have in common and that is that they are evil. Alsea tried to be open minded when meeting her stepmother but Sulia quickly proved to her their truth. Alsea sees Sulia as most people do not or will not see her. Mother - Ralyn (deceased) Beloved mother, wife and confidant. Alsea spent her early childhood as her mother’s shadow. Alsea is easily considered the closest child to her mother. Ralyn’s death in childbed, deeply affected her.

Personality: Alsea is a devoted mother to her children and any of her fosterlings. She especially feels sorry for orphans. She spends long hours and many nights to make sure that the hides are accurate, the tithing trains are on time and the records are perfect, new Holders are settled where they should be and that the kitchens are going smoothly. She double and triple checks the freshness of the stored foods and the cleanliness of the guest rooms. She is fair in her dealings with others. She is quite liberal with her punishments if a drudge or child should be caught doing something wrong. But her punishments always fit the crime or trouble caused.
Alsea has come to loves Torant very much and has grown close to him. She is very considerate with him and will go to him if she needs his opinion on something. She is very supportive of his endeavors and will sometimes remind him of things he left undone. She is serious when she’s working, but she exudes an aura of patience and calm. She was a mixture of excitement and apprehension when she first came to Star Hold. But she relaxed over the Turns and is quite enjoying herself. Deep down in the dark corners of her heart, like nearly every woman, she has a jealous streak. She hasn’t quite gotten a hold of the emotion to keep it from raising it’s ugly head when it’s not wanted, or deserving of attention. She still struggles with the emotion from time to time, and in different situations.
She takes her duty as Star Hold’s Lady quite seriously. She always has a smile on her lips and a kind word for anyone she sees with a frown. She does any task that she feels she must do herself and brings any problems to Torant if it requires his attention. She is quite responsible in her duties and work, never leaving anything half done. She is very determined in anything she does and very strong of will when she feels the situation calls for it. She is very intelligent and often goes over figures to make sure everything is as it should be. She always brings up anything she finds out of place with her husband to get his view on the situation.

She is by far the largest in her clutch. Her wings are wide and long, as is her tail being long. Her body is lithe with muscled tone that adds depth to her physique rather nicely.
Personality: Marty is not one to be trifled with. What she wants, she gets. She knows her hide is gold and she flaunts it when she gets the chance. She is on the very high end of fire lizard intelligence and is a very quick learner. She is quick to defend her Alsea and, quite interestingly, Torant. She is sometimes curious about things and will investigate them, sometimes with not so good results. She has a need for praise, and you can definitely tell she knows she deserves it!
History: Alsea was born as the third child of five to Lord Merrek and Lady Ralyn of Fort Hold. She was an obedient child and adored by her mother, Ralyn. She shared a close bond with her mother, closer than her other siblings. She was used to being with her mother nearly everywhere she went. She learned many things about running a Hold and etiquette in Hold matters. Her mother was pregnant with another child when Alsea was eight turns old. Ralyn gave birth with complications during the labor and died shortly after Melora was born. Alsea was devastated. She knew and understood about death, but she had never considered that she would lose the only person that truly understood her.
For a while after her younger sister’s birth and her mother‘s death, Alsea resented the babe that had taken her mother. She didn’t want to have anything to do with Melora. But after a short few months, she started to warm up to the little girl. Though at times she often wondered how such a little girl could grow up to be such an airhead. She knew at a young age that she would be married off to the son of a Lord Holder. One that would inherit, no doubt. She didn’t really mind so much. She took her lessons on etiquette and proper behavior seriously. She enjoyed her Harper lessons the most.

She had been a guest with Merrek and Sulia to a formal dinner at Telgar Hold. There she met Torant. And shortly after their meeting she learned she was to be his wife in a short time. Alsea took the events in stride and even helped with a few of the preparation details. Though she grew to love him during their early turns of marriage and would not change the past even if she could. She had thought that Torant would be arrogant, self-centered and abhorrant, but she found firsthand that he was much more.
And then, thirteen turns ago, she traveled 200 turns back into the past with her husband and a small group of others to help with a project that the Weyr asked of them. She was shocked when the group voted to make Torant the Lord Holder of Star Hold, their new home. But she settled right in with Torant and was very happy when she bore Torant three strong children, Eveddin, Radoray, and Porillyan. She thinks she may be pregnant again, but she doesn’t know yet. She’s been meaning to see a Healer but she doesn’t seem to have the time.
